Auf dem Büromöbelmarkt gibt es eine große Anzahl verschiedener Varianten. Sie unterscheiden sich nicht nur im Aussehen und im Preis, sondern auch in den verwendeten Techniken. 

Diese untergliedern sich in 3 Gruppen, Permanenttechnik, Synchrontechnik und alternative Technik.

1. Die Permanenttechnik hat die Eigenschaften, dass sich nur die Rückenlehne bewegt, wenn man sich nach hinten lehnt, der Rest bleibt starr. Nicht Ergonomisch
2. Die Synchrone Technik dagegen bewegt erst die Rückenlehne und dann folgt die Sitzfläche in einer bestimmten Übersetzung. Ergonomisch
3. Bei der Alternativen Technik wird entweder auf die Stabilisierung oder Mobilität der Person Wert gelegt. Stabilisierend ist gut für jemand der lange sitzt und wenig Bewegungsimpulse während seiner Arbeit hat. mobilisierend ist gut für Personen, die viele Bewegungsimpulse haben. Bei bestehenden Beschwerden kann ihr Physiotherapeut Ihnen sagen welches Model für Sie besser ist. 

The history of the open angle sitting is derived from CHINESE TRADITION:
.. “In Buddhist tradition a bench or a pillow is often used to create a kneeling-like position that can be maintained for extended periods of Zen meditation discipline. The weight of the torso is lifted off the ankles and the forward tilting seat opens up the angle between trunk and thighs, putting the back into its natural S-shaped alignment." ... Three Norwegian designers Oddvin Rykken, Peter Opsvik and Prof. Svein Gusrud developed chairs based on this principle. This way of sitting became known in countries all over the world.
